Prospective students must be assured that their education will provide them with the skills they need for success in light of the scarcity of graduate employment, the unpredictability of the "gig economy," and the knowledge that more and more professions will be impacted by technology.
Given how fiercely competitive the local job market is, this has become even more important to them. more so now that a large number of people who lost their jobs during the height of the pandemic are reentering the labour force.
However, students must be aware that a college degree does not guarantee employment in the subject of study or that they will have to pursue that field.
More crucially, it is to get them ready for a VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) word.
