Updated: Apr 11, 2022

As Malaysia prepares to enter the epidemic phase, Covid-19 self-testing is one of the tools to manage new infections without the need for another lockdown. Now there’s a new update and you are now required to attach or snap a photo of your test result on Mysejahtera, whether your result is positive or negative.

It is recommended that you do a Covid-19 self-test before attending a party or event, or if you have Covid-19 symptoms such as a sore throat, cough, flu or fever.

Under the latest protocol, published on February 17, close contacts are now required to self-test only if they develop symptoms. However, at present, Malaysians who are found to be in close contact with a COVID-19 positive person are still required to undergo a 5-day quarantine if they have been fully vaccinated and boosted. For those who have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been fully vaccinated, including booster doses, a 7-day quarantine is required.

If you miss out, you can claim income tax relief of up to RM1,000 towards the cost and purchase of Covid-19 RT-PCR and self-test kits for the year of assessment 2021. MySejahtera has also set up a physical kiosk at the World Trade Center to help users experiencing issues with the app. Due to high demand, the kiosk is now open daily until March 15, but is limited to 400 tickets per day. — SoyaCincau
